1. Who we are

ClassKit is a lesson planning platform for NZ secondary school teachers, operated by Jamie Callawick (sole trader). Our website is classkit.co.nz.

2. What information we collect

We collect the following information when you use ClassKit:

• Your email address and password (for account creation and login)
• Lesson content you create using the builder (subject, year level, topic, learning objectives, activity types)
• Usage data (number of lessons generated, dates of activity)
• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)

3. What we do not collect

ClassKit is designed for teacher use only. We do not collect, store, or process any student data, student names, student work, or any personally identifiable information about students. This is a core product principle.

4. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide the ClassKit service (generate lesson materials, save your library)
• Process subscription payments via Stripe
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
• Improve the platform based on aggregate usage patterns

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in Supabase (Postgres database with row-level security) hosted in data centres that comply with industry security standards. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. All data transfers use HTTPS encryption.

6. Third-party services

ClassKit uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Stripe — payment processing
• Anthropic (Claude API) — AI-powered lesson content generation
• Vercel — website hosting

Each provider has their own privacy policy. Lesson content you provide is sent to the Claude API to generate activity materials — Anthropic's data use policy applies to this content.

7. Your rights (NZ Privacy Act 2020)

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and associated data

8. Cookies

ClassKit uses only essential cookies required for the service to function. We do not use advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics cookies.

Because we use only essential cookies, no cookie consent banner is required under New Zealand law.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to registered users. Continued use of ClassKit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
